The yearly carol service at St Clements was held on Friday 9th December. This year about 120 attended including the Mayor of Thurrock Tunde Ojetola, the local MP Jackie Doyle-Price and the Procter &Gamble plant manager Rob Williams.
Also present was a choir from Gateway school who sang a selection of carols and singer/songwriter Wayne Jacobs sang some of his own Christmas songs, the music for the carols was played by Robin Mumford on the church organ as well as this readings were given between each carol, many thanks also to the members of the congregation who did the readings.
Turkey rolls, hot mince pies, hot sausage rolls, soup, tea & coffee were all supplied by the plants restaurant, along with sherry & wine which Gerry Hughes, (committee chairman), had brought along.
This was a culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication which the church team had put in during the year and all involved were looking forward to another successful year ahead.
