Gerry Hughes and Mav Mills took over part of the Thurrock Council tent at the Orsett show on Saturday 7th 2013 to showcase the history of the church and the events that are planned. They also talked about the plans to get local people and schools involved in using the church. They had a good day but it was a long one, over 1500 people attended the displays in the Thurrock tent and a lot of interest was shown in the church stand. Most people said that they had trouble finding the church and when they did find it they thought it was abandoned, we explained that Procter & Gamble look after it now they were surprised many said they would make the effort to revisit and possibly get involved.
